Statement on new bank notes from Bank of Canada

The Société Macdonald-Cartier Society is pleased to hear about the new designs for our $100 and $50 bills respectively. Our new $100 bill will celebrate Canadian pioneering in the medical field, and our new $50 bill will reflect our role in the Arctic, as represented by the Canadian Coast Guard Ship Amundsen.
We are also very pleased to hear that our new $10 bill, which will be unveiled sometime before the end of 2013, will be a recognition of the linking up of our national railway system by, among others, Sir John A. Macdonald. This great symbol of our nation deserves all the recognition that it receives.
