This is a program that has been approved for the period 2010-2013.
Engaging with young Canadians through…
- Holding leadership workshops to promote civic engagement, leadership skills and other tools that are vital for shaping our democracy as we approach the 150th anniversary of Confederation in 2017;
- Publishing essays and screening multimedia material produced by young Canadians related to Macdonald, Cartier, and other important figures during the historic period of Confederation;
- Promoting books, literature, other materials and organize screening of motion pictures about Macdonald, Cartier, the other Fathers of Confederation and their contribution to Canada’s founding values
Research will be conducted in support of this program, both historical and policy research.
